Ever since Shel was abandoned by her parents, life has been a game of thievery, lies, and survival. Stealing is all she knows and she’s good at it…until one of her schemes is ruined by a stranger who plans to steal something far greater...the emperor's throne...
The ambitious stranger hadn’t taken one thing into account–that Shel might have secrets of her own–secrets she might not even know herself. Now the two must work together to survive in a world where souls grant power, and trust is rarer than gold...
SOUL WEAVER is a fantasy novel by TRIP ELLINGTON.

It's closer to a 3.5 for me for its flaws, mostly pacing related: the second half of the novel reads much differently than the first, introducing a bunch of new characters through little vignettes that made me wonder if I'd opened a different book, and the main character masters her newfound powers way too quickly to be believable. (There's a time skip between chapters to justify her advancement, but it still seems too sudden.)Still, despite this, the novel's a fun read. The world is intricately and interestingly crafted (though I would have liked to see deeper explanations for certain elements, particularly how soul-based magic allows users to affect physical/non-spiritual things), and there's plenty of adventure to be had. It's worth a try if you like magical fantasy with a hint of dystopia (and a lot of revolution).

Soul Weaver A Fantasy Novel edition by Trip Ellington Children eBooks Reviews
As far as fantasy goes, I have never red anything like this before. It was an easy read and enjoyable.
I loved it. Many surprises, many likable characters, surprises galore. The end is fantastic!
Rez and Shel were fabulous characters and the story kept me so interested that I couldn't put it down. Excellent story.
WOW! Loved the whole book. Fantastic fantasy. Way to go Trip. Still must put in more words; I have an intense dislike for having to do this.
Street Urchin to most powerful person in the world? Maybe, maybe not. Sucking up other peoples souls makes a person stronger, but is there a way to defeat the most powerful soul sucker of all? A good storyline, strong background info, and a rapidly developing plot full of action make this a quick easy read.
A very well developed story and told in a cmpelling manner. Unfortunately too many characters enter at a later stage and the excitement dims while following their actions. All the same I rather enjoyed the new touch of soul magic.
I was not sure that this was the type book I enjoy and started it mainly because it was the shortest read in my kindle library as my reading time was limited. As the flow of the story caught my attention I ended up missing a night of sleep unable to put this book down. It was worth the missed sleep!
